Immersion has stopped being a promise and become a set of concrete tools. In 2025, mixed reality headsets, haptic systems, spatial audio and generative NPCs are changing how games are built and played, from blockbuster platforms to tightly scoped indie experiments. The result is less about spectacle and more about presence, agency and accessibility.
